We utilize a fluid bed air roasting method, rather than the more traditional, gas-fueled drums employed by most coffee roasters. These drum roasters, while capable of creating great coffee, are less environmentally friendly: they burn fuel and vent smoky emissions. They also can impart a “burnt” flavor or odor to the coffee as the chaff separates from the bean and often catches fire in the drum while roasting.

In contrast, an air roaster employs a vortex of highly pressurized heated air to roast the beans. Chaff and dust is blown off the beans and collected in a separate chamber during roasting. The result is a cleaner process and a cleaner taste -- showcasing the flavors present in the bean and not those added by the machine.
